..On the line between Honesty and Idiocy

I, personally , walk that very line and have no qualms  admitting it . ..to and fro ..one side to another ..never been clear about the line …but , one thing I am sure about , … walking that  line does not affect others  …or hurt anyone ..and it suffices ,MORALLY …at least . Another thing that I am sure about is that the line is on the extreme side of honesty …and it hurts , sometimes . That very act of hurting  one’s self makes it absolutely optional and ,to some extent , raises questions about the act .

                                                                                               

                                                                                      
                                                                          Somewhere in the news-paper ,  recently , in the quotations section , I came across a quote by a witty fellow (don’t remember the name ) ..that  “Honesty is the most over-rated policy “  …quite a witty saying and wit it was …considering the fact that it was not said by anyone before and the statement may seem a wisdom apart …what I feel about the quote ?? …whoever said this , MUST have touched that very line  I am talking about (at some point in his life )  …and then realized .. Its of no use ..and then returned to some other realm ..a totally justified act …but the quote ,according to me , is not ..(may be it was said for humor’s sake ….or something else ..we’ll put it aside ,for now) .  The act of returning to some other realm  not of extreme honesty ,according to me , is a justified one …for if you cross the line ,you are very well in the realm of idiocy and if one keeps on going and remain honest still , then the result is insanity …and insanity  is NOT AN OPTION  for any man . So, the only option remaining for the men with extreme honesty is to  walk  that very line .. very few do that WITHOUT  losing  their mind.

                                                                                    


                                                                              Honesty in its various forms like being truthful in dealing with others , earning in a fair manner , being honest in a relationship , being simple and straightforward ( this one more or less being a result of being honest, rather than a form) …all have their respective importance , but being honest with ONE’S SELF  scores over all of them … and being TOO HONEST with one’s self will DEFINITELY  bring you to that line …and then , its your personal choice whether to go on OR to retreat …depends upon how much one can bear ..I mean , how much sh*t   one  can take . The act of retreating back is NOT ALWAYS wrong … for ,  if being honest with one’s self starts hurting beyond a limit ( ..considering , not ALL of them can be supermen ) ,   then its better to retreat  than becoming a repulsive human being for the rest of the lot  (..the community in which the person has to live) . In fact , men who are TRULY honest with themselves will NEVER become a repulsive entity for their community (.. that’s a point to distinguish the real from the fake one’s ) … those who BECOME REPULSIVE in the process are the one’s who MIGHT have remained honest with themselves but SOME HIGHER KNOWLEDGE MUST HAVE ELUDED them …( may be they did not understand it or over estimated their own anatomy because of their own ego ) …those “ community-repulsive ” elements DEFINITELY transcend to the  idiocy side and remain there  for a long period of time rather than walking the line . Now , their becoming an idiot  OR the community starting  to repel them …which happens first .. its unknown .. may be both happens at the same time … who knows !

     
       ….some of the men are NOT very honest in dealing with others (not even with their wives ,some of them ) but are FEROCIOUSLY  honest with themselves … (it happens ,believe me ) .. because they have  some larger picture in mind ,  pertaining to  “ common good “ and they are driven by some    higher philosophy  unknown to a   very honest   worker working his as* off to earn his Rozi-roti  .  [..and the so-called “dishonest” ones like to keep it that way …smart act ! ]….and the very honest workers HAVE  to live with that because being unknown to some higher philosophy may not be a very  negative point but that ignorance is  CERATINLY  NOT  an asset …what can one do ..     

      So..is it  required to walk that line between honesty and idiocy …painfully (for some time) ..alone ….may be the ones who do that have a reason to do so … they remain HOPEFUL of something (…even they don’t know of what..)…and once they are able to regain their lost friends …life’s not that hard for them…but they walk that line willingly …no one forces them to do that. The one’s who are left with NO CHOICE but to walk it..(.. may be because they have already made a REPUTATION of themselves of being very honest .. and HAVE TO ABIDE by that …well…what can we say about them..) .AS LONG AS ONE’S CONSCIENCE DOES’NT HURT  while walking that line ,the act is justified or else a person can very well be dishonest in his dealings and sleep with a clear conscience (considering , self-negation NOT being an option) . .. I mean there’s no need to become a superman ...when we all know that there ARE no supermen …there are ONLY two kinds (who matter) :: 

•    the one’s who SAY IT ALL and 
•   the one’s who DO NOT SAY AT ALL , not even transmit (..if you understand what I mean )  

                                                                                                        
                                     ...and both the kinds are successful ...AND  the one’s who go from one side to another (sometimes this..sometimes that.. only confuse themselves and others ,too ) …well , I ‘d like to leave them..as they are.

  
          .. The answer lies in the kind of philosophy one follows in his life …the one’s who walk that line are more LIKELY  to follow a personal (INDIVIDUALISTIC ,they call it) philosophy …and I am not saying that those who follow a personal philosophy …always walk that line and are very honest (i.e. it may not be true the other way round ) . The one’s who are in some other realm (not on that line) follow a POPULIST one (impersonal)  …or rather , are bound to follow that impersonal, populist philosophy for their NEED TO CONNECT  to others and be a part of the whole ..(..sometimes to please others ,too) ..a perfectly justified act because of my earlier argument (..no supermen ). Now,  they may be successful (..on their levels) , connected (according to their own prowess ) ,even honest  with themselves(.. and having a theory to justify their act )   but those following a populist philosophy (..and mark my words) CANNOT  BE  ENTIRELY SURE of any ONE BELIEF they can hold on to (..may be a pinch of corruption has gone into them ) ….and I think ,  that’s when they start generating a keen interest in Probabilistic mathematics ..(just a humor) .

                 ..The fact is ... in the process of LEAVING THE  LINE …something fades away and the harsher truth is  that one  can never get  back there again …what is it ? (… even the man himself doesn’t know ) ...HOPE  …may be ..
